Support Hannah with Urgent Medical Treatment

New Update: January 25th 2025

We have a new update with how treatment has been going. My wife Hannah began receiving IV treatment late August and continues to still have a picc line in her arm to receive medicine. The last few months have been challenging as we have faced more road blocks than we thought. During the first month of treatment, she began having problems with her bone marrow and had to stop to address blood result concerns. When she was able, we started again, however, this time she began having horrible sharp pain in her abdomen and eventually ended up needing emergency surgery in the middle of the night early on Thanksgiving. As she is still recovering from surgery and her body adapts to the new change, she has started treatment again. She is responding better to the treatment this time around. We started noticing that she was responding better to the medicines as she got rid of another suppressant to her immune system, but her symptoms had worsened during the needed breaks while her body was recovering. Her neurological symptoms including trouble swallowing, walking, breathing, and ongoing cardiac events have been prevalent, along with many other dabilitating symptoms and remind us that we still have a long way to go. Even though the circumstances and symptoms have been so challenging and on multiple occasions have been quite scary, we are keeping hope that things will continue to improve.

We had multiple hospital visits over the last few months/weeks and are still in need of financial help. We are so grateful for those who have been there for us throughout our journey and are so thankful for all of the prayers and financial support thus far. We are learning it really does take a community to support one another, as unforeseen circumstances do happen. With that said, we are deeply appreciative to every one of you and hope that 2025 will be the year of recovery!

New Update: 08/23/24

My name is Hannah. I am currently fighting Lyme disease accompanied by debilitating co-infections. My specific case of Lyme has become chronic and severe, and requires extensive treatment. I am fundraising for a specific medical treatment which has the ability to put my disease in remission, however many medicines for the treatment for this disease are not covered by insurance and can become very expensive. To prevent permanent organ damage, I need to receive treatment as this disease can become irreversible. This disease has become degenerative for me because of the co-infections that came with the tick bite and can become fatal if not treated properly. Since getting this disease, I have learned so much throughout this process and hope to spread more awareness of Lyme which is so often underrepresented and misunderstood in the future.

My Lyme Disease and Co-Infection Diagnosis:
After receiving my bloodwork from in-depth testing back we found we had more than expected in my blood. We discovered I have 3 bacterial infections and 1 parasitic infection in my blood, explaining why my case has presented itself so severe (9 strains total).

After opening up about what I have been going through, many people have been so generous and encouraging. The support has meant so much to us during such a difficult time. We had the fortunate opportunity knock at our door with another treatment option here in the states that works with severe cases like mine. This still meant we needed to travel outside of the state for treatment, but this looked promising as our last resort had become so expensive to do. When we went to see the doctor, we were able to get started on treatment and this week I was able to receive my picc line to administer IV medicine bypassing my stomach and preventing further damage to my gut. I am now starting an intense protocol that will likely be around 6 months depending how I am responding to the medicines. Because the doctor isn't covered by insurance and many medicines are out-of-pocket as well, treatment still continues to be very expensive. I also need to undergo a procedure that will help prevent me from coming out of remission. Any help financially will go toward my treatments and helping me go into full remission.

If you have any questions about this treatment plan, please feel free to contact my husband or I about any questions you may have for further clarification. We want to thank you for all of your prayers and support as I continue to move into the direction of full remission!
