My dear friend and Malibu community member, Hannah Lamonea, suffered a life-altering medical event and needs the help of our amazing community to make a full and complete recovery. On January 26, 2026, Hannah suffered an allergic reaction that landed her in the emergency room, where she underwent treatment, only to suffer a more severe allergic reaction that caused her to go into cardiac arrest. After three rounds of CPR and defibrillator, she was brought back to life and intubated. It's a miracle she survived. Hannah is a single mother of three and one of the hardest working people I know--she's worked as a hair stylist in Malibu for 25 years to support her family, and is the primary caregiver for her extended family, also. Our kids went to preschool together at Malibu Methodist Nursery School, and I remember clearly when I first really understood how special she is -- I saw her giving free haircuts to unhoused people at the Thanksgiving dinner put on by the church. Hannah is someone who gives with a full heart and is the first to offer her home and resources to help others in need. She needs our help as she recovers from this serious medical set-back that's affected her ability to work and left her physically and financially in a fragile, depleted state. We are hopeful and confident that she'll make a full recovery, but it will take several months. Her ability to work, drive and care for her family has been severely compromised. If you know Hannah, you know that she is the first to give to others when they're in a tough spot.
