Support Hannah & Family In A Time of Need

With a heavy heart, I come to you on behalf of one of my very best friends, Hannah Daniels who is dealing with a terrible diagnosis with no cure, for her mother, Melissa Daniels. What started with just dizziness and falls, ended up to needing full time care which Hannah had to manage while also keeping a job and now here we are 4 months later and after multiple ER visit’s, doctor appointments, waiting until months from now before Neuro could take her and things were progressively getting worse and being put off and sent home as “just dementia” every time; Hannah decided to take one last trip to UVA and stand up for her mom and not leave until she had answers. Melissa spent one week at UVA which resulted in many trips for Hannah back and forth. UVA did all of the tests that they had to offer. But today, they sent Melissa home on Hospice and a diagnosis of what appears to be CJD- Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease, a rare, degenerative, and fatal brain disorder. It belongs to a group of conditions known as prion diseases, which are caused by abnormal proteins called prions that affect the brain. CJD progresses rapidly and typically leads to severe neurological symptoms, including memory loss, behavioral changes, coordination issues, and vision problems. With this, they are estimating that Melissa has 1-3 months left on this earth with her beautiful daughter and grand daughters who she loves more than anything. Hannah has cut all of her hours from her job to stay home and care for her mom full time while on hospice. I want to help them financially as this leaves great financial hardship on the family. Melissa also wants to have a nice funeral and I want us to be able to help give her that. I have seen these go fund me’s work for so many families, if any of you can and find it in your heart to help them out during this time, it would be more than appreciated.
