Dearest friends, family and supporters,

Most of you know by now that our sweet Hank passed away on Friday with his best friend by his side. The depth of my brother’s grief is unimaginable. We are doing our best to help him manage this pain the best way we can, one day at a time. Hank was a cherished member of our small family and brought us all so much joy. The bond he forged among us is unbreakable.  

We want to thank you all for helping with Hank’s expenses, and for cheering for him on his journey over the last 11 years  

Because of your generosity, he and our dad will not have to worry about how to pay for Hank’s most recent (and considerable) medical bills and can focus their energies on trying to somehow manage this most devastating loss.

Hello friends,

Many of you have followed the adventures of Hank the Service Dog on Instagram and Facebook and may already be aware of his recent health issues. Hank is currently in critical care at a veterinary hospital in Englewood, Colorado with severe pneumonia. Every day he gets a little bit stronger and the veterinarians remain hopeful that he's on a good path.

Hankers is technically my brother Aldo's service dog, but their true partnership and friendship goes far beyond that label. He is his light, his best friend, his constant companion, his only relief when the physical pain becomes overwhelming. Aldo has his own health issues and is facing a number of skull reconstruction surgeries stemming from a car accident when he was in his 20's. Since then he’s had a large brain tumor resected and a failed reconstruction and many infections from that surgery. In an unfortunate turn of events, he re-injured his head while getting Hank into the car to rush him to the ER on Thursday, and ended up in the ER himself that night. I've seen Hank's love and support perform miracles; not only for Aldo, but through the special bond he has created with our dad. These three single guys take excellent care of each other and they are beyond devastated that this has is happening to Hanky.

The medical bills are astounding; thankfully, they do have pet insurance which will cover a great deal of the expenses. If you're able to give a bit to help out, we would be forever grateful. If you can't, that's perfectly ok and we ask that you still post a note of encouragement & hope for Aldo, Del, and Hank on his Instagram page @ Hank_the_service_dog, or via a message in the comments, and always through your generous prayers on their behalf.
