Dear Friends,

My name is Jessenia Laguna-Torres, and I am both a former neuropathologist and a current homeschooling mother. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Natural Sciences with a concentration in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico, and a Master of Science in Pathology and Laboratory Sciences with a concentration in Neuropathology from Boston University. My research has been published in high-impact journals such as Science Translational Medicine, PLOS One, and The Journal of Neuroscience.

As both a scientist and a Christian homeschooler, I am deeply passionate about sharing the wonders of science with the next generation. Yet many homeschooling families in Massachusetts—my own included—face unique challenges, especially when it comes to accessing high-quality science education. Limited budgets and single-income households often mean that homeschoolers go without essential lab tools and resources that public school students have through their school districts.

That’s why I’m so excited to introduce Hands-On Creation: A Christian Homeschool Science Initiative—a grassroots program dedicated to equipping Christian homeschool families with the tools and resources they need to explore God’s creation through hands-on science education.

We officially started 4 courses in 3 different locations, benefiting 37 students:
• Adventures in the Scientific Method (Grades 3–5) at FOG in Chelmsford, MA
• Adventures in the Scientific Method (Multi-Level K–8) at Townsend, MA
• Exploring Creation with Biology Honors Lab (Grades 9–12) at CHET in Princeton, MA (Two Sessions)

The initial average cost of lab equipment and materials per student is approximately $1,000. Our goal is to equip at least 12 students per class, which means we are seeking to raise $12,000 to fully fund materials and equipment for this and upcoming school years.

Here’s how you can help:
• Give directly through our GoFundMe campaign: https://gofund.me/434ff6ac
• Bless us through our Amazon Supply List: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/H71OQ4YUTTUZ?ref_=wl_share

Every gift—large or small—will make a meaningful impact in helping us provide a hands-on, Christ-centered science education for our homeschool students.

Most importantly, we also ask for your prayers—for a fruitful fundraiser, for wisdom and joy in the year ahead, and for each student who will be part of this journey.

Thank you so much for considering a partnership with Hands-On Creation: A Christian Homeschool Science Initiative. Your support means the world to us.

God bless you richly!

In Christ,
Jessenia Laguna-Torres, MS, BS
