Hi, my name is Kaytlyn, and I'm starting this GoFundMe for my little sister Hana, who is courageously fighting cancer. In 2023, she was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer, which has since progressed to Stage 3 Thyroid Cancer with metastases, known as TRIM27-RET Fusion.
Hana underwent a Thyroidectomy and neck dissection in January 2023, followed by radiation and various therapies, hoping to eliminate the cancer. However, recent tests in Oklahoma revealed that the cancer persisted, compounded by a rare cancerous genetic mutation. Determined to seek the best possible care, we've turned to UC Health~Anschutz in Denver, where Hana is under the care of a multidisciplinary team of specialists.
On February 29th, Hana underwent extensive tests and consultations, confirming the need for aggressive treatment. The cancerous mutation has led to metastasis, necessitating chemotherapy to shrink the tumor located dangerously close to her trachea and carotid artery. Despite the early signs of chemo's toll on her body, Hana remains resilient, supported by regular monitoring and care from her medical team.
Looking ahead, Hana faces the likelihood of another high-risk surgery, which could have life-altering implications due to the tumor's location. With her 26th birthday approaching and the impending loss of insurance coverage, we are grappling with financial uncertainties. This GoFundMe will alleviate the burden of medical bills, therapy, and daily expenses, allowing Hana to focus on her health and recovery. Your generosity and support mean the world to us as we stand by Hana in her fight for life. Thank you for joining us on this journey and helping Hana stay strong amidst the challenges ahead.
