Help the Hana Dragons Make This Season Legendary
In the remote town of Hāna, Maui — tucked between lush cliffs and crashing waves — there’s a team that plays with more heart than most stadiums have seats.
They’re called the Hana Dragons. And they don’t play for scholarships or media coverage or fame. They play for each other, for their community, and for the love of the game.
The Dragons are an 8-man football team, but don’t let the number fool you — they go full speed, every play, every down, every single time. These boys hit the field after long days, with hand-me-down gear, worn-out cleats, and no complaints. And when they line up under the lights, it feels like the whole town breathes as one. Because in Hana, everyone shows up. Aunties, uncles, grandparents, little kids… even if you don’t have a cousin on the team (but you probably do), you’re in the stands.
This season, the Dragons have a chance to take things to the next level — to train harder, travel farther, and compete stronger than ever. But they need your help.
We’re trying to raise $12,000 to cover essential gear and opportunities that would mean everything to these young athletes.
Here’s what your donation will help provide:
Football Camp in Keʻanae ʻUka – A once-a-year opportunity for the boys to sharpen their skills and build lifelong bonds. This camp sets the tone for the whole season. (Needed by Friday, 7/25/25)
New Cleats for All 32 Players – Every sprint, every cut, every drive starts at their feet. Right now, many are using old or mismatched pairs. Fresh cleats would be a game-changer. (Needed ASAP)
Game Socks in Yellow and Green – Our school colors. Our pride. We need one set of each color for each player. (Needed ASAP)
Yellow Practice Jerseys – So the boys can train like they play — unified, sharp, and proud. (Needed ASAP)
Football Tights (Yellow, Green & White) – Three pairs per player so they can play hard and stay protected in any condition.
These boys have the work ethic. They’ve got the fight. They’ve got the support of a town that loves them like family. What they don’t have — yet — are the resources to step onto the field this season fully prepared.
We believe in them. And if you’ve ever cheered at a high school game, if you’ve ever seen a small-town team rise above the odds, if you’ve ever felt the magic of community through sports — we’re asking you to believe in them too.
Help us give the Hana Dragons the season they deserve.
Because in Hana, football isn’t just a game. It’s our heartbeat.
Mahalo for your support.
