We could use any small donations possible to help with the vet bill to save my granddog "Han Solo". Cody had to rush Han to the Emergency Vet late Saturday night, 3/15/25. Han's diagnosis was "Bloat" also known as GDV (Gastric Dilatation-Volvulus), and it is a life-threatening condition that can occur in dogs, particularly in Golden Retrievers. Their stomach fills with gas and twists on itself, blocking blood flow and oxygen to the organs. If Amber and Cody hadn't been home to hear Han's yelps in pain and acted so quickly, he would be gone too soon at 6 years old. Thank God Cody acted quickly and got Han to Blue Pearl Clinic Emergency on Southside Blvd, where they were able to save Han. Punky and Charlie were so scared and sad that Han might not make it. Elaina was staying the night with them and was doing her best to console Punky, saying, "Han is going to be ok, I know it!"
Han had to have his spleen removed, but they were able to untwist his stomach. He came home yesterday with strict rest to heal. Han has a girlfriend, a beautiful German Shepherd named "Leia," who would've also missed him terribly. We are all sooo glad the vet team acted quickly and saved him. Thanks for reading our story, and any amount would help out! Love from us ALL, but especially Han Solo and Leia!
