On January 2, 2025, our 21-year-old daughter, Halle, suffered a stroke caused by multiple blood clots in her in brain, two seizures, and a thyroid storm. She spent 30 days in the Neuro ICU, 60 days at the Shepherd Center for inpatient rehab and has been going to an outpatient stroke rehab facility near our home since April. This month Halle started at the Shepherd Center's Beyond Therapy, an outpatient clinic that, unlike traditional therapy, aims to reactivate dormant neural connections and retrain her body for movement. Targeted, high-intensity exercises challenge weaker muscles and underused pathways to help her regulate mobility, strength and independence. She'll spend two days a week for two hours each day in this program. We believe this therapy will help Halle immensely!

The cost is approximately $1,800 per month, and it is all out of pocket since the program does not accept insurance. We are kindly asking for your support in Halle's journey in her new outpatient rehab program. Your financial support would allow her to continue in this program. The Shepherd Center rates among the top rehab centers in the U.S. each year and we are thankful to be a part of it.

We are also grateful for the many friends, family and strangers who have provided meals, given us gift cards, ran errands and lifted us up in prayer over the past 11 months. It has not been easy, especially with her medical costs nearly $100,000 to date, but your generosity will help Halle continue her much-needed therapy. We are in awe of the miracles God has, and continues, to perform in Halle's life.
