Support Haley's Recovery After a Devastating Stroke
Hi, my name is Mckenzie Reistad. On July 12th my brother Justin's beautiful wife
Haley encountered one of the scariest moments of her life.
Sunday, our beloved Haley, just 32 years old, suffered a life-changing stroke. She was airlifted from Helena to Billings, where an incredible team of doctors has been working tirelessly to save her life.
Testing showed damaged blood vessels and blood clotting in the back of her neck, which they believe may have been caused by a chiropractic neck adjustment she had the Friday before.
Despite aggressive treatment, they noticed swelling of her brain.
Doctors first drilled a hole to help relieve the pressure, but when her condition didnt change, they had to perform surgery to remove a portion of her skull to allow her brain room to swell.
The surgery was successful, and Haley is now responding to movement in her arms and legs. While this is an encouraging sign, she still has a long and uncertain road to recovery. There are many unknowns, and she will need extensive medical care, rehabilitation, and ongoing support.
Haley is not only a beloved wife, daughter, sister, and friend—she is also a devoted mother to two young babies and a loving stepmom to three amazing children. Her family is now facing an unimaginable emotional and financial burden as they focus on being by her side through every step of her recovery.
We are asking for your support to help ease some of that burden. Every donation will go toward medical expenses, travel between Helena and Billings, lodging, lost income, and the many unexpected costs that come with a medical emergency.
If you're unable to donate, please consider sharing Haley's story and keeping her and her family in your thoughts and prayers. Every share, prayer, and act of kindness means the world to them.
Thank you for standing with Haley and her family during this incredibly difficult time. We will continue to share updates as we have them.
