My name is Christine Laforce, and I am a close friend of Haley Flegel’s and have received permission from her husband, Gary, to start this fundraiser on their behalf.

In May 2024, Haley was diagnosed with high-grade glioma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. She responded well to treatment at first, but last month, doctors found a new tumour in a different area of her brain.

Radiation treatments were cancelled after the tumour had grown too large to treat. Haley is now on a trial drug that may slow the growth of new cancer cells, but sadly, it cannot treat the cancer already present.

Haley has recently been moved to palliative care. Despite every effort, the focus has now shifted to keeping her comfortable and surrounded by love.

Haley has endured more than anyone ever should. At just six years old, she was diagnosed with leukemia. After completing treatment, she was healthy for several years until being diagnosed with parotid cancer in 2021. She was about to reach the milestone of three years cancer-free when she received her latest heartbreaking diagnosis: brain cancer.

Through it all, Haley has shown incredible grace, strength, and resilience. She has always supported those around her, even while facing unimaginable struggles of her own.

Gary has taken time away from work to care for Haley and their two young daughters, Priya, and Amelia. As you can imagine, this situation has placed an overwhelming emotional and financial strain on their family.

We are asking for your support to help ease the financial burden they are facing. Every donation, no matter the size, will help provide Gary the ability to focus fully on caring for Haley and their girls, and to help support them in the difficult months ahead.
