Koda's recent and unexpected passing has left Haley and Kyle in grief and veterinary medical debt.
My name is Connor Gowland. I’m Haley’s twin brother and Kyle’s brother-in-law. As many of you know, Haley and Kyle’s beloved dog of 12 years, Koda, recently passed away unexpectedly. Koda wasn’t just cherished by them—she was adored by countless guests and staff who had the joy of meeting her in the COHO common room.
While we were attending a family wedding in Brazil, we received the devastating news that Koda had been rushed to the emergency room. She was having trouble breathing, but the veterinarians were unable to determine a diagnosis and explained that she would need extensive testing and observation. It was a nightmare situation for anyone, made even more heartbreaking by the fact that Haley and Kyle were over 24 hours of travel away. They immediately booked flights home and made it back as quickly as possible. Just two days later, Koda passed away.
Days of diagnostics and testing brought few answers and left Haley and Kyle with medical bills far beyond what they ever expected or anticipated.
Anyone who knows Haley and Kyle knows how deeply they care for the Conway community—whether through renovating and running the COHO Conway Hostel or hosting events like Valley Joy that bring community members and small business owners together. I’m creating this GoFundMe so they can continue their work without the weight of this unexpected financial burden on top of their grief.
We understand that money is tight for many people, and we only ask for support if it’s financially possible for you. Koda touched every life that came through the hostel. She was the light of Haley and Kyle’s life, and we are deeply grateful for any donation you’re able to give during this difficult time.
