My name is Hala, a 20 year old university student from Gaza.
Since the beginning of the war, my family and I have been displaced 9 times. We are a family of 6, and with my grandmother, we are 7 people trying to rebuild our lives after losing our home and everything we worked for.
Today, we move between damaged buildings and temporary shelters, living with constant uncertainty about what tomorrow may bring. Every day is a struggle to secure food, medicine, rent, and the basic necessities that many people take for granted. We currently live without the stability and security that once defined our lives.
Like many families in Gaza, we have experienced painful losses. During the war, we lost my grandfather, and our family continues to face the challenges of caring for loved ones while living under extremely difficult conditions.
Despite everything, my brother and I continue our university studies online, determined not to let the war take away our future. My younger sisters are also doing their best to continue their education, even as daily life becomes more challenging. Holding on to education has become our way of holding on to hope.
Before the war, we had a normal life, a home, stability, and dreams for the future. We were never people who depended on asking for help. We worked hard, studied, and built our lives with dignity. But years of displacement, loss, and hardship have changed everything, and now we are simply trying to keep going and rebuild what was taken from us.
Through all of this, we continue to support one another, hold on to hope, and believe that better days will come. For those who choose to stand beside our family during this difficult journey, your kindness and compassion mean more than words can express.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers.
