My name is Hailey Brooks. I am 21 and have been chronically ill since I was 16. It took me four years to get diagnosed with POTS and Gastroparesis by the Mayo Clinic. Since being diagnosed, I have tried a million different things to help my symptoms: surgeries, medications, lifestyle changes, tests upon tests, and nothing has worked. I went from being a competitive softball player, playing 7 games a day in 90° heat, and acting in plays and musicals... to being unable to leave my house and hardly the bathroom floor. 

I have been unable to work since May and have lived exclusively on the bathroom floor since the beginning of September. I am now trying what feels like my final hope: The Epigenetics Center. They practice functional medicine and have given me a lot of hope to feel better. We are doing thousands of tests that Western medicine won't, and doing a detox and lifestyle change. The problem is that they do not take insurance. We owe them around $25,000. Being unable to work is making this a large financial stress on my parents, who have two other children to care for.
