Support Hailey and Rosie Through Flood Crisis

Hey everyone,

We’re reaching out with heavy hearts and a lot of soggy towels. Just two days ago, we were hit with unexpected flooding that started in our water heater room—but quickly revealed itself to be part of a much bigger problem.

Water began pouring from our ceiling. We checked with our upstairs neighbors and found they were dealing with the same issue. We then went up another floor, only to discover that their water heater had burst due to a mainline pipe failure. We’ve since learned that this may be linked to a sinkhole that formed nearby in Cottonwood Heights, which damaged several underground lines in the area.

Since then, things have only escalated. Restoration crews brought in industrial fans to help dry things out, but this morning, new water started seeping from our wall. A plumber (called by our landlord) cut into the drywall and found that the flooding may be coming from the roof—something under our HOA’s responsibility. In the meantime, the damage continues.

We’re asking for help covering some of the urgent costs this situation has dropped into our lives:

• Temporary storage for our belongings

• Boarding for a few of our pets, to get them into a safer space

• Bottled water and basic supplies

• Potential hotel stays if the living conditions become unsafe

• Emergency expenses related to cleanup and recovery

Our goal is to raise $5,000 to help us get through this and keep our little household stable while we work with landlords, insurance, and the HOA to find long-term solutions. Anything you can offer helps—sharing this, sending kind words, or contributing if you’re able.
