On September 20th, Hailey’s life changed in an instant.

A drunk driver crossed into oncoming traffic and crashed into the vehicle carrying Hailey and three of her closest friends. All four victims sustained multiple significant injuries.

Hailey was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, including a fractured skull, multiple spinal fractures from C7-T3 and T7-T10, three pelvic fractures, shoulder blade fractures, and badly bruised lungs. Most seriously, she suffered a badly broken jaw and five or more facial fractures.

Hailey faces a long road to recovery. She will require surgery to repair her jaw and cheekbone, and unfortunately, her jaw will need to be wired shut so that it can heal properly. Several of her other fractures are also being closely monitored to determine whether additional surgeries will be necessary.

Recovery will take time, strength, rehabilitation, and continued medical care. Beyond the physical challenges, there will be medical bills, follow-up appointments, medications, transportation, and other unexpected expenses as Hailey works toward rebuilding her life.

Adding to the financial burden, the driver responsible for the accident was underinsured, and Hailey does not have medical insurance. This leaves her and her family facing substantial expenses at a time when their focus should be on her healing and recovery.
