Help Hailee Recover After a Devastating Accident

On August 2nd, 2025, my 16-year-old daughter, Hailee, was involved in a horrific accident. While joyriding with a group of friends on the highway, Hailee fell out of the front passenger-side window at a high rate of speed. 

She was rushed to the ER and admitted to the trauma unit in critical condition.

Hailee has suffered severe road rash, covering nearly 75% of her body; this requires deep wound cleaning, under sedation, due to the pain and extent of her injuries. She also underwent multiple CT scans and X-rays, which revealed numerous fractures in both of her feet and wrist. She now has hard casts from knees to toes, and she cannot walk for at least three weeks.

To reduce the risk of infection, she has been started on IV antibiotics. Her daily bandage changes take over an hour by the wound care specialists, causing her excruciating pain. Her recovery will involve inpatient rehabilitation, along with continued support from:

• Wound care specialists

• Orthopedic surgeons

• Physical and occupational therapists

• Pain management

• Dietitians, social workers, and a full-time nursing team

This has been a life-altering event for Hailee, and for our family.

As a single parent, I’m doing everything I can to stay by her side during this incredibly difficult time — but I’m facing a financial crisis. I recently started a new job, and my health benefits have not yet started. Every day, I’m juggling medical decisions, time off work, and the emotional toll of seeing my child go through so much pain.
