Hello, my name is Emily, and I am reaching out with a very heavy heart. My 12-year-old son, Haidyn, has recently been diagnosed with a rare tumor in his temporal lobe called ganglioglioma, located on the right side of his brain. We’ve been told that he needs brain surgery to have it removed, which is scheduled for October 8th. As you can imagine, this news has turned our whole world upside down.
Haidyn is such a bright, caring, and strong boy, but he is scared—as any child would be. I’m doing my best to stay strong for him, but truthfully, we are both overwhelmed and emotional. The road ahead feels long, filled with appointments, recovery, and the unknown.
Along with the emotional weight, the financial stress has been weighing on me. I will need to take at least 3–4 weeks off work to be by Haidyn’s side, possibly longer depending on how recovery goes. That means I’ll be without income during this critical time. On top of everyday bills, there will also be travel costs for his appointments and other unexpected expenses.
I never imagined myself in this position of asking for help, but right now I know I can’t do it alone. I am setting a goal of $5,000 to help cover bills, travel, and essential expenses while I focus on Haidyn’s surgery and recovery.
Any amount, no matter how small, would mean the world to us. Even if you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser is an incredible help. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your love, prayers, and support.
Together, I know we can get through this. Please keep Haidyn in your thoughts and prayers as he faces this surgery and begins his healing journey.
With gratitude,
Emily & Haidyn
