My name is Leora and I am doing this for my aunt Haide and cousin Moti Carmeli. This is their story.

On June 13th, my 80-year-old mother and I experienced one of the most devastating moments of our lives — our home was completely destroyed in the Iranian missile attack on Israel.

From that day on, our lives were turned upside down. The place we had lived in for years became uninhabitable. We lost everything — furniture, appliances, clothes, family keepsakes — everything we had built with love, effort, and care.

To make matters worse, just days after the attack, our damaged home was broken into. Thieves took my mother’s valuable jewelry and all the cash we had left. This added to our deep sense of vulnerability and helplessness.

To further complicate the matter, my mother has several serious health issues and is in treatment but this tragic event has made her recovery more difficult.

On August 15th, we will be moving into a new, temporary rental apartment. While we are grateful to have a roof over our heads, the apartment is completely empty. We are starting our lives from scratch — needing everything from beds, furniture, and appliances to clothing and basic kitchenware.

We need help to restore a sense of safety and stability.

Any contribution, big or small, will make a tremendous difference in helping us rebuild our lives.

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank anyone who chooses to stand with us during this painful and uncertain time. The support, kindness, and compassion of good people give us the strength to carry on.
