Greetings, supporters of innovation, tech enthusiasts, and hackers!
Allow me to introduce you to HackCWRU, an organization dedicated to fostering innovation and collaboration within the tech community. Our primary focus is organizing annual hackathons, such as HackCWRU 2025, taking place on January 26th, which provide a platform for students of all majors to apply their coding skills and develop creative solutions to real-world problems. Last February, over 100 students from Case Western and out-of-state colleges participated.
This year’s Hackathon holds a special meaning for our team as we honor the memory of my mom, Radha Vinod, who was a big part of the event last year. She came all the way to Cleveland to judge and help me, her daughter Ishika, organize HackCWRU 2024. As the Director of Verification Services at Experian, she was a firm believer in the power of technology and innovation. This year's hackathon will be held in her honor, and we would deeply appreciate any contributions to help support the event and make it a success, just as she would have wanted.
Let me also introduce our amazing team for HackCWRU 2025:
Ishika Kanakath – President: A fourth-year student in the combined bachelor’s and master’s program for Computer Engineering, Ishika is leading the charge for HackCWRU with a passion for technology and innovation.
Nikki D Costa – Logistics Director: A fourth-year Computer Science and Data Science student, Nikki ensures that the event’s logistics are flawless and seamless.
Ishika Mishra – Promotions Director: As a second-year Data Science major, Ishika manages the outreach efforts, helping spread the word and attract participants and supporters.
Luke Curran – Promotions Director: Also a second-year Data Science major, Luke's communication skills are essential to marketing our hackathon.
Noah Medrano – Finance Director: A second-year Computer Science and Integrated Humanities major, Noah oversees the financial aspects to secure the necessary resources.
Mark Shteyn – Design Director: A second-year Data Science major, Mark ensures the event is visually appealing and user-friendly.
We hope to see you at HackCWRU 2025 as we continue to build upon the legacy my mother helped shape. Thank you for your support!
