Support Hachi's Urgent Tail Amputation
Donation protected
Hello all, my name is Asia and I’ve started this GoFundMe in support of my special needs cat Hachi.

The Backstory:
Now 7 years old, I’ve had Hachi (and her brother Nobu) since they were babies. Hachi has a neurological condition that has affected her balance and weakened her back legs. She has spent countless hours at the vet for exams, shots, blood work and x-rays, and has had endless speculation over what the next best course of action is for her well being.
In trying to understand her condition, Hachi had an MRI done with veterinary neurology. Unfortunately, this provided no answers to her condition and ultimately ate into a large portion of my savings. The one thing that the MRI did reveal is that Hachi experiences complications being under anesthesia; despite additional tests, they could not figure out why these complications occurred, and it means that any future procedures will require additional care that cannot be provided through a traditional vet within normal operating hours.
Purpose of the GFM:
Recently, Hachi experienced an unexpected, deep injury to her tail, requiring sudden amputation. An amputation can traditionally be done in a day through a standard vet; however, due to Hachi’s complications with anesthesia, her regular vet and neuro vet strongly recommend supervision with an board certified surgeon that provides overnight hospitalization which, as many fellow pet owners know, can increase a bill by 2-4x the cost.
After long conversations with our regular vet, neuro vet, and those close to me, I strongly believe that this surgery is the right course of action for Hachi who has shown that she still has so much life and determination left in her.
The Ask:
I am seeking to raise $6000 to cover the cost of her tail amputation through an emergency vet, as well as aftercare and expected additional costs. I understand this is a significant amount, and I deeply appreciate any contribution you can make, with absolutely no expectations.
For everyone who donates anything, I plan to send out thank you cards with art of Hachi on it! And for $50+ donates, I'll be putting together some small goody bags with stickers and things.

THANK YOU!
I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to my friends, family, and community—even if you’ve simply taken the time to read this request, thank you. Hachi has seen me at my worst and my best. She joined me in my first apartment, for my big move to Richmond, during my time in college, through turbulent relationships, and was my favorite topic in my 5 years of pet retail. She is in every room I am in, is under my blanket when I sleep and is glued to my hip every second she can get. She is one of the most happy, chatty, loving and fearless pets I’ve ever owned. Her weak legs don’t stop her from being a spicy little firecracker who loves to chase shoe laces or get the zoomies when I get out the yogurt.
