Gwen Clark is a kind, loving, and loyal friend, wife, and above all, mother. She is always there for anyone—from friends to strangers. When it comes to receiving, however, she struggles because she's a giver. Sometimes she needs to step back and accept that she is loved and people want to help her.
Gwen was diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2026, leading to a double mastectomy on June 1st. Her journey doesn’t end there, though. Genealogy testing shows a chance of ovarian cancer as well, so after the double mastectomy, she will have a hysterectomy. Gwen is a seasoned hairstylist at the Jeffrey Richard Salon in downtown Grand Rapids, where she has worked for 21 years. She has made many amazing friendships with her salon family and clients along the way, and loves all who sit in her chair.
Unfortunately, this leaves Gwen with no means of income due to months of missed work for appointments, surgeries, and recovery. Her husband, Matt, will also miss work to support her during these times. Donations will help alleviate the financial stress by covering household bills, medical co-pays, travel expenses, supportive care after surgeries for comfort, daycare for her son Wyatt, and whatever comes up along the way. Your support will allow Gwen to focus on healing and spending time with her family, rather than having financial stress take up any of her energy. She is the kind of person you're truly lucky to encounter, know, and love. Thank you all—from her and her family.
