Gustavo Sparovich was more than just a New York State Trooper—he was an outstanding human being, a dedicated friend, and a source of light to everyone who knew him. Assigned to SP Wurtsboro, SP Montgomery, SP Middletown, and most recently as an instructor at the NYSP Academy, Gus touched countless lives through his service and his kindness. I was lucky enough to spend time with Gus both on and off the road, even during holidays. He was truly a breath of fresh air, always bringing positivity and strength to those around him.

Gus’s passing is a heartbreaking loss for all who knew him. He was a devoted member of the New York State Police, and his spirit, dedication, and compassion left a lasting mark on his colleagues, friends, and the community. I want to honor Gus’s memory by supporting his family, who are now facing unimaginable loss, and by remembering the incredible person he was.
