If you care about the future of music, you'll want to meet Gus and Ziggy, the brothers behind GandZ Music.

These young musicians have been studying violin since early childhood and have spent years developing their talents through discipline, perseverance, and a genuine love of music.

Gus who is 14 years old, has been playing the violin for more than 10 years. His younger brother, Ziggy, age 10, has already dedicated over 5 years to learning the violin. Together, they have invested thousands of hours practicing, performing, competing, and sharing their love of music with others.

Now they are working toward an exciting new goal: earning money through their music. Every donation, performance, video, and opportunity motivates them to continue practicing, improving, and sharing their talents with the world. Knowing that their hard work has value inspires them to keep striving for excellence.

Their Musical Journey -

Gus -

Gus has been a dedicated member of the Oakland Youth Orchestra (OYO) since 2021. His accomplishments include winning the prestigious OYO Concerto Competition and performing as a soloist before a sold-out audience. Most recently, Gus successfully auditioned for the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association (MSBOA) All-State Middle School Orchestra and was selected as Principal Second Violin for the 2026 All-State Orchestra—an outstanding honor that reflects his exceptional musicianship, leadership, and dedication.

Ziggy -

Ziggy has quickly established himself as an accomplished young violinist. In March 2026, he earned Second Place in the Oakland Youth Orchestra (OYO) Solo Competition, demonstrating remarkable musical growth and dedication. Later that year, he successfully auditioned for the Oakland Youth Orchestra String Orchestra and was accepted into the First Violin Section for the 2026–2027 season, marking another exciting milestone in his musical journey.

A Strong Musical Foundation -

Both brothers began their musical journey at Suzuki Royal Oak, now known as the Suzuki Music Academy of Michigan (SMAM), where they built the strong technical and musical foundation that continues to shape their success today. They continue their music education through Oakland Homeschool Music (OHMI).

In addition to violin, both boys study piano and participate in chorus, helping them become well-rounded musicians. Ziggy has also expanded his musical abilities by studying clarinet, performing with the OHMI Beginner Band during the 2025–2026 school year, and advancing to the Intermediate Band for the 2026–2027 season.

Their private violin instruction continues under the exceptional guidance of Judith Teasdle, whose mentorship has been instrumental in their musical growth and achievements.

An Exciting New Chapter -

One of the biggest milestones in their musical journey is just beginning.

After successfully auditioning, both Gus and Ziggy have been accepted into the prestigious Detroit Symphony Orchestra Civic Youth Ensembles (DSO CYE). Beginning in September 2026, they will begin rehearsing and performing at the world-famous Orchestra Hall in Detroit—an incredible honor and a major step forward in their musical careers.

This opportunity places them among some of Michigan's most talented young musicians and provides world-class training, challenging repertoire, and unforgettable performance experiences.

Our goal is to raise $5,000.00 to help cover Detroit Symphony Orchestra Civic Youth Ensemble tuition, private lessons, instrument maintenance, sheet music, travel, and future violin upgrades for the 2026–2027 season.
