Support Gunnr's Urgent Medical Care

Donation protected
On Sunday, August 31st, we awoke to our 9-year-old German Shepherd, Gunnr, seizing on our bedroom floor. She had a second seizure not long after, and we rushed her to an emergency vet. She's hospitalized and undergoing tests to determine the cause. The estimates for her hospitalization range from a low-end of roughly $2k to a high-end of about $4k. This does not include any medication she may leave with or the MRI she'll need if her labs come back clean.

Normally, I'm the person giving to these campaigns, not the one asking for help. That all changed when I was laid off in July—a result of federal contract cancellations. I'm struggling to find work and to keep bills paid, having lost half of our household income. I don't want money to be a limiting factor in her care.

Prior to this morning, Gunnr was in exceptionally good health for a dog her age. She was still climbing ladders, jumping on furniture, chasing toys, hoarding pillows, and showing foster pups how it's done. She's been our constant companion since she was 9 months old. My boys have grown up with her, and she with them. We've cherished her sense of humor, smarts, and even her incorrigibility.

Gunnr is named for the Valkyrie of battle. Please, help her win this one.

Update: Gunny is responding to anti-seizure medications and her bloodwork is normal. She will need a brain MRI to look for scrutural causes.
