We need help to save our sweet baby boy, Gunner.
On Thursday, January 8th, we came home to our boy covered in his own throw-up and no longer eating. Any food or water he tried to drink, he continued to throw up and was so lethargic he could barely walk. We rushed our baby to an emergency vet who looked at him but said he was fine and sent us on our way.
The next morning, we immediately called our normal vet who got him in and explained to us that with his diabetes, he has gone into DKA and has severe pancreatitis that will need 24/7 care and hospitalization.
Our beautiful boy has been in the hospital since Friday morning, and we just received word that all his progress this morning has regressed, and he now will need to stay longer and be placed on a feeding tube. I was supposed to be picking him up today.
Our hearts are broken, and we will do anything to bring him home to us. He’s our 8-month-old daughter’s best friend, and she misses him just like the rest of us.
The treatment he requires had to be paid upfront, and now our family is looking at a bare minimum of $15,000 in medical CareCredit debt in hopes to bring Gunner home.
We’re not the type to ask for anything; we have been so blessed in our lifetime and never want to burden anyone. But even with both of us working full-time, with an 8-month-old with medical issues and in daycare, these bills are detrimental to us. Anything helps. I hate to ask. But if any more bills for his care get put on, we don’t know how we’re going to give him what he needs.
