5 weeks ago, my son Gunnar was admitted to CHOA PICU diagnosed with Guillain-Barré, pneumonia, and lupus. He is only 16, has been an athlete his entire life, and now he is incapable of moving his limbs. He has been on a respirator since admission. About 3 weeks in, his pupils stopped responding, but with dialysis, that function has returned, and he is able to communicate with blinks. His kidneys have been affected, and high BUN in his kidneys caused the pupils to stop responding. Gunnar is still in PICU and so far I have received $43k in medical bills my insurance does not cover. We need help with resources. We have to move to a single-story home, my car has started to run hot, and we need a reliable vehicle. Please donate and if you can't, please forward.
