We are heartbroken to share that our family home in Bakoteh, The Gambia, known as Gumaneh Kunda, was completely destroyed in a tragic compound fire. This house was where my siblings and I grew up while we lived in Gambia. Although no lives were lost, and we thank God for that, the fire took everything: clothes, food, documents, cherished belongings—nothing could be saved.
This home once also belonged to my late uncle, Alhagie Mansa Gumaneh, who passed away in 2020. His memory, along with the spirit of this home, lives on in the family he left behind. Now, in the midst of this devastation, they are left with nothing and urgently need help to rebuild their lives.
We are asking for your kind support to help the family recover from this tragedy, whether it's through donations, sharing this campaign, or offering prayers. Every bit helps in giving my family hope again.
Thank you so much for your generosity in this deeply difficult time.
