Hi, my name is Amy Puerile, and I am reaching out on behalf of my friend, Guinevere. Guin is a loving mother, grandmother, and wife and a cherished friend to so many. Recently, she underwent a life-saving liver transplant. While we are grateful beyond words that Guin has a new chance at life, the journey ahead is challenging, both emotionally and financially.

Guin’s Journey:

As many of you know, Guin has experienced a life-changing year. After many days in Norwich Hospital, she was transferred to Westchester Medical Center, where she became a critical patient and a high priority for a liver transplant. Amazingly, she received a liver from a donor, and the surgery was successful. However, she suffered a stroke shortly after the surgery. While she has been recovering for several weeks, Guin still has a long journey ahead. But the amazing news is—she is recovering!

Recently, Guin posted a poem that I'd like to share:

This is her second chance.

A few days ago, my phone went off and to my amazement it was a video call from Guin. The conversation was serious, filled with moments of reminiscing and shared laughter, but most of all, reflection. She still has a long road to travel to get herself home and start her second chance.
