My name is Gaby Jimenez, and I am writing to you on behalf of my family. On Thursday, December 19th, my father, Guillermo, suffered a major stroke. At the time, he was in the hospital for an unrelated issue, making this a shocking and devastating turn of events.

We are currently in Ukiah, awaiting a transfer to a specialized stroke center down south, depending on the availability of an open bed. While my father has retained most of his mobility, his ability to communicate has been severely affected. His recovery will be long and challenging, but we remain hopeful that the transfer to a facility equipped for his needs will give him the best chance at a positive outcome.

Unfortunately, the financial impact of this situation is far beyond what we are able to manage alone. Between hospital expenses, rehabilitation costs, and the loss of income for my father, my mother, and myself, the burden is overwhelming. My mother and I are preparing to take time off in the coming months to care for my father and support my younger sisters during this critical time.

We are humbly asking for your support to help ease the financial strain on our family. Any amount you can contribute will make a difference and help us focus on what matters most: my father’s recovery. If you are unable to give, sharing this campaign with others would mean the world to us.

Mi nombre es Gaby Jiménez y me dirijo a ustedes en nombre de mi familia. El jueves 19 de diciembre, mi papá, Guillermo, sufrió un derrame cerebral grave. En ese momento, estaba hospitalizado por un problema completamente diferente, lo que hizo que esta situación fuera aún más inesperada y devastadora.

Actualmente nos encontramos en Ukiah, esperando su traslado a un centro especializado en derrames cerebrales en el sur, dependiendo de que haya una cama disponible. Aunque mi papá ha mantenido la mayor parte de su movilidad, su capacidad para comunicarse se ha visto gravemente afectada. Sabemos que su recuperación será larga y difícil, pero tenemos esperanza de que este traslado a una instalación mejor equipada le dará la mejor oportunidad para salir adelante.

Desafortunadamente, el impacto económico de esta situación está más allá de lo que podemos manejar como familia. Entre los costos de hospitalización, rehabilitación y la pérdida de ingresos de mi papá, mi mamá y yo, nos enfrentamos a una carga financiera abrumadora. Mi mamá y yo estamos preparándonos para tomar tiempo libre en los próximos meses para cuidar a mi papá y apoyar a mis hermanas menores en esta etapa tan crítica.

Con humildad, les pedimos su apoyo para aliviar un poco esta carga financiera y permitirnos enfocarnos en lo más importante: la recuperación de mi papá.
