Last November, just before the holidays, I was unexpectedly fired from my job. It was a huge shock and completely changed the direction of our lives overnight. Up until that point, I had been earning enough to support both myself and my girlfriend, Jessie, while she focused on investing time into her dreams after leaving her previous job in January 2025 due to unsupportive management.
When my job suddenly ended, we quickly realized that the place we were living was far too expensive for the types of entry-level positions available to us at the time in the area. After a lot of difficult conversations and careful planning, we decided the best path forward was to use the last of our savings to relocate somewhere more affordable while we searched for better opportunities in our fields.
Unfortunately, the move ended up costing much more than we expected. Between moving expenses, deposits, electricity/water and the time it takes to secure stable employment again, we have found ourselves starting our finances almost completely from scratch.
The past several months have been filled with both hope and hardship. While we remain determined and are actively working toward rebuilding stability, the low moments have been incredibly difficult and at times almost unbearable.
In addition to rebuilding financially, we are also passionate entrepreneurs with ideas and long-term goals centered around providing our communities with healthier, higher-quality foods and goods. We believe strongly in building things that benefit the people around us, and part of our vision for the future is creating businesses that help make nutritious, thoughtful products more accessible to our community.
We are hardworking people who truly want to stand on our own feet again, and we are doing everything we can to move forward. Right now, we are simply asking for a little help to get through this rebuilding period so we can stabilize and continue working toward both employment and the long-term goals we care so deeply about.
How donations will help us get back on our feet:
• Rent and housing stability
• Groceries and basic living expenses
• Transportation and gas for job opportunities
• Catching up on essential bills
• Giving us the stability needed to pursue employment and begin building our small business ideas
Every donation, no matter the size, helps relieve some of the pressure while we work hard to rebuild and move forward.
Any support we receive will go directly toward basic living expenses while we continue working toward stable employment and rebuilding our financial foundation. We believe strongly in moving forward with integrity, gratitude, and determination, and we are committed to showing real progress from the generosity and good faith of those willing to help.
Even if you are unable to donate, sharing this page means the world to us.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any kindness you may be able to offer.
With gratitude,
Guillermo & Jessie
