About the Guancascos

Guancascos are ceremonies to offer gratitute to Our Creator, The Mother, The Father as we pledge to be in harmony with our communities, our neighbors, and nature in our ancetral indigenous lands and anywhere our people reside.

Our May Guancascos are to offer gratitude to the upcoming planting season. Our Lenka communities plant, tend, harvest the land to honor our traditions. Our communities work in partnership with our ancestral lands while sustaining their families throughout the year.

Our Lenka Tatas and Nanas (elders) will gather and guide 70 families in Guatajiagua and over 9 Nations in Honduras to thank the Creator, The Mother, The Father for the upcoming agricultural season. We thank Our Creator as they share their wisdom, their love, and their guidance with our communities as our families begin another planting season.

These ceremonies will take place mainly in Guatajiagua, Morazan and we are hoping to support another one in Honduras.
