I'm Scott Hall, Clinical Director and owner at Genuine Solutions Counseling Center in Waterford Michigan, est. 2008. We were recently the victims of criminal activity carried out by a long time clinician contracted with us whom we had great faith in and thought we could trust. This clinician violated counseling code of ethics, when breaching a contract with us to inform us of her departure so that our administration team could contact effected patients. This policy and contract is in place to prevent clinicians and interns from violating an ethics code regarding the creation of dual relationships. GSCC always encourages patients to remain with their clinician and follow them to their new place of employment if that is what they wish. This clinician coerced 30 GSCC patients they were contracted to provide services to, to follow them to their new practice, and coerced 5 interns they were contracted to supervise, to do the same. In total 1 clinician and 5 interns poached a total of 60 GSCC patients they were under contract to provide services to. This was carried out behind the backs of administration and the owner. No notice was given in advance of their leaving with these patients, they all left without notice and when contacted, many of the patients would not respond to us, some admitted they felt coerced and responded by remaining with us at GSCC. We have evidence of all the above, and litigation is under way but, in the mean time, our revenue is so greatly reduced by this malicious action that we can not cover payroll or many of our bills associated with remaining in business. We are in desperate need of funding so that we can remain a helping hand in the community. Personal resources have been depleted, and we are now asking for help from the community we serve. Please help us by giving what you can; anything, small or large will be useful to us in keeping the doors open and getting back on track.
