Rescue friends — one of our own needs help right now.

Our friend Dagmar, who many of you know from her tireless work helping cats in Hawai‘i, is facing a sudden medical crisis with her own cat Grumpsies.

Just a few days ago he looked completely healthy. She rushed him to the vet thinking it was a urinary issue (he has a history of FIC), but the ER discovered a large amount of free fluid in his abdomen and his blood pressure dangerously low. He is currently in critical condition at VCA.

They started FIP treatment tonight in case this is an aggressive form of FIP, but they are still trying to determine exactly what is happening. Right now he needs hospitalization and intensive care.

Many of you know Grumpsies as the sweet “foster dad” who has helped Dagmar raise rescued kittens over the years. Now he’s the one who needs help.

His emergency care is already around $6,060, so I’m sharing her GoFundMe in hopes our rescue community can rally around them.
