Support Grounded Interiors: Revitalize AVL Small Business

What happened?

Hurricane Helene brought unexpected damages to Asheville, NC, devastating many retail and community spaces. One of those was a beloved furniture and home decor store called Dwellings, located in Biltmore Village. Upon hearing that the owner of Dwellings was not going to rebuild, the dedicated Design and Warehouse staff opted to take up the mantle of this store that had provided gorgeous NC manufactured upholstery, appealing wood furniture and an array of home accessories in a warm, no pressure environment at reasonable prices.

Who are we?

We're those former Dwellings employees: store manager Sara Wolf, designers and furniture pros Casey Butt and Luci Cantey, as well as Warehouse guru James Carroll. Our partnership is motivated by a shared vision to resurrect a space of beautiful design, customer-driven service, and affordability that we know the community appreciates. We can't imagine working anywhere else, with any other team.

What are we doing?

In our new iteration as Grounded Interiors, we aim to be part of the retail revitalization in Western North Carolina by providing accessible, high-quality furnishings that cater to all budgets. Our new brand not only emphasizes quality and affordability but also curates a unique selection of furnishings that resonate with the local culture. Grounded Interiors is a venture driven by a love for design and dedication to crafting beautiful and functional living spaces.

What will we do with your money?

You can help further our mission to create a welcoming space where customers can explore unique, budget-friendly pieces, enhancing their homes while merging comfort, style, and affordability. And to be completely frank, starting up a furniture and accessories brick and mortar store from the ground up is expensive y'all!

Funds we raise will go towards the list of things we need to get going -gathering equity to secure an SBA loan, securing a location, building out and filling a gorgeous 6000 sq ft showroom, securing a delivery truck, as well as a lot of the small necessary stuff, like computers and software, a point of sale system and of course, a coffee machine!

We'll keep you updated on where every cent of this money goes, as we move towards the goal of a spring official opening date for Grounded Interiors.
