My name is Grisel Colon, and I never imagined I’d be writing something like this. A short time ago, I received the news no one ever wants to hear: I have endometrial cancer. Since then, my life has been filled with doctor visits, tests, and difficult conversations about surgery, treatment, and what comes next.

I am doing everything I can to stay strong, stay hopeful, and fight this disease—but the reality is that cancer treatment is overwhelming not just emotionally, but financially. Between medical bills, specialist appointments, medications, travel for treatment, and the time I’m unable to work, the expenses have already begun to pile up. Even with insurance, the out-of-pocket costs are far more than I can manage alone.
