My name is Denise Lopez, and I'm Griffin Kofahl's mom. I'm hoping that I could find some people that are willing to help me fund my son in his time of need.
I will tell you my story of how my son got hurt and was sent to the hospital. It happened at 2:40 pm on Tuesday, April 24, this year. We were waiting for the guy who was going to fix the garage door because our garage got broken. We we're outside getting everything out off the garage. It was time to go pick up the other kids. I asked my boyfriend to watch him. Because Griffin was playing with car outside and I has coming back soon . I got in the car, started to back up, and my boyfriend started running to my car and screamed 'stop'. I stopped, but it was too late. My boyfriend told me that my son was trying to get my attention, but I didn't see him. In that moment, he got too close to the front passenger side tire, got pulled into the tire, and the tire ran over his head.
When I looked over the front of my car, I saw my son not breathing. I pulled him out and I could not think in that moment. I was in panic, crying out loud. In that moment, my boyfriend called 911 and they helped us with him on the phone. It was a nightmare because he was not breathing for 5 or 10 minutes. I was hugging him, and we tried to get him to breathe, and he didn't. Then the ambulance got there fast, and they took him to the hospital. We didn't leave the house until the case was investigated was done and they found out that it was an terrible accident. I got to see my son at 7pm because the doctors wanted to talk to me about the possibilities of him not making it through the time he was in the hospital. He has zero possibility to survive.
Every day for the past three week, they were telling me to let go of him. I couldn't eating or sleeping because I didn't want to make the decision.
Now my son has been transferred to another hospital in Oklahoma City. We decided to do long-term therapy for him because in my heart, I know my baby will come back to me and I will do anything for him. I couldn't go back work since everything happened. I'm been to his side every time. I start right way to get train on every course they have so i could take care of him.
When there is a will, there is a way. It's a long way and I will not stop until I have my son back.
I don't mind how much you want to done to help for him if you want to done a dollar or more. I will be grateful for your donation. Thank you for your time.
