Help Griffin get to Maine!
Griffin was recently accepted to a summer camp. It's for boys, and it unplugs them from video games, TV, and electricity(!) and teaches them how to navigate the social and emotional constructs of today's world through group activities like sailing, 3-day hiking or canoe camping trips, and campfire stories and sing-a-longs every night.
They live in permanent heavy-duty canvas tents for the summer, 4 boys per tent. They are built on a wooden platform, and they use lanterns to get to and from the latrine at night.
Maine is pretty far away, and he won't be able to call while he's at camp. It's on an island in the middle of a freshwater lake. He does get to send me postcards, and I can send care packages to him.
Mostly we need help traveling to and from Maine. He also has a big list of gear to bring. Any little donation is appreciated. Griffin is beyond excited and feeling very independent and grown-up. Thank you all so much!
