On February 10th 2025, my best friend, Madeleine, lost her partner and love of her life, David Mazza, unexpectedly just before his 38th birthday. Only to find out just days after his passing that she is pregnant. What a bittersweet blessing. So now, my friend is 16 weeks into her pregnancy, with her first and only child, preparing to face not only the challenges and struggles of motherhood, but the beauty and joy of creating a life alone. As if she needed any more reassurance that this was a gift from David in heaven, she has just confirmed that she is expecting a baby boy, who happens to be due on what would have been their 6 year anniversary, October 25th 2025.

4 years ago when I was pregnant with my son, it was Maddi and David that took it upon themselves, despite David and I being mere acquaintances at that time, to plan and throw me an amazing baby shower, in a beautiful AirBNB home just blocks away from the beach, it looked like something straight out of a Pinterest board. They truly spoiled me.

Okay I am getting to the point here, I am trying to raise money to not only throw my best friend the baby shower her and her unborn son deserve, but to help support her in preparing for a baby at the most unexpected and financially difficult time. She, after paying for cremation and funeral expenses for David, and trading in her piece of crap car and taking out a loan for something reliable and baby safe, has found herself beginning to panic about how she is going to be able to make these payments and do this on her own, especially after losing more than half of the household income. Needless to say, any remaining funds after having the baby shower will go to helping relieve as much stress as possible for the already grieving mother to be.

Any donation, no matter how small, will be so greatly appreciated. I am still in the process of setting up the baby registry for her, but as soon as its complete I will be posting a link to that here as well, incase anyone feels more comfortable helping in that way.
