Greta's Heart Journey

"At 23 weeks in our pregnancy, we were sent down to Primary Children's Hospital with concerns about Greta's heart.

After an Echocardiogram, our sweet girl was diagnosed with 3 heart defects:
1- Transposition of the Great Arteries
2- Double-Outlet Right Ventricle
3- Coarctation of the Aortic Bridge
As well as a hole in between her Right and Left Ventricles.

Greta was born on September 2nd and she had her big open heart surgery on September 9th.

Update as of 9/30/25:
“Our little miss Greta is recovering amazingly from her heart operation 3 weeks ago! Her vitals look amazing and she is getting great report cards from all of her nurses, surgeons, cardiologists, and physicians. She is such a happy, sassy girl and LOVES snuggles with all of her family members! She is obsessed with her mommy & daddy and is very attentive and playful!

Echocardiogram and CT imaging has now revealed some constriction in her right pulmonary valve. Sweet Greta will be back in the OR for another open heart surgery to put a conduit in place of her right pulmonary valve and to patch up a small VSD. This will take place within the next week or so.

She will need a conduit there for the rest of her life, and will need open heart surgeries about every 4-5 years to replace the conduit as she grows. As she gets older, surgeries become more spaced out and less invasive. She will have regular appointments with cardiologists in between surgeries to ensure she is safe and her heart is healthy!

We are so grateful for her medical team and for all of our friends and family.”

Due to Greta’s diagnosis, Brock and Lexi are going to endure extensive medical bills, and hardship on their family. Any donations are much appreciated!
Thanks a million!
