Support Greta in Her Time of Need
Donation protected
Family, friends, and local community of the Prendergast/Miller family,
Our dear friend, Greta, is in need of our help. 2024 has been a tumultuous year for her and her family. While working full time as an elementary school teacher, Greta was tasked with taking care of her mother, Moira, while she battled stomach cancer. For those of you who know Greta, you probably know how close she is with her parents. Growing up as an only child in North Kitsap, Greta and her family have held a special place in our community and our hearts for decades.
This past July, our sweet and wonderful Moira lost her battle with stomach cancer. Greta stuck by her side for months, caring for her until the very end. During this difficult and unimaginable time, her father, Carl, was also facing many complications with cancer. She had barely been given a chance to grieve the loss of her mother when her father Carl was hospitalized. He is currently fighting for his life at UW hospital.
The heartbreaking challenges Greta has faced this year have been compounded by the stress of inheriting her mothers mortgage. While grappling with her loss and caring for father, Greta is now faced with losing her childhood home.
Greta has had a terrible year. So in the spirit of giving this holiday season, please consider donating to this GoFundMe. The purpose of this fund is to buy (literally) Greta some time. Our goal is to raise at least $10,200 to cover Moira’s mortgage for the next 6 months. The hope is to take some of the stress off of Greta's shoulders, to give her the time she needs to help her father heal, and to allow her to start the grieving process.
Moira was one of the kindest humans I've ever had the opportunity to love. Moira was always willing to help others, giving her time, money and energy to those in need. In her memory, we hope we can extend that kindness to her daughter Greta. It would mean the world to Moira to know her community is looking out for and taking care of Greta during these hard times. But we need your help!
If you or someone you know was graced with Moira's love and would like to give, please consider sharing or donating. Any donation, big or small, will go to supporting Greta.
