I will be moving back to my home on Friday. My homeowners insurance will not pay for any further repairs. (This is a complicated saga).
I do not have the death certificate yet to access his HR Department and any official benefit of retirement, health insurance or life insurance.
My health is still being dealt with. I have testings to be done before we proceed with the plan.
I have no income at this time and I have been through all of my tangible savings while paying for tests and procedures for Greg, tests and procedures for me. My credit cards are maxed.
Thank you to those who have brought meals, that is the only real meal my kids get outside of the frozen items I bought for their breakfast and lunches. It’s been a horrible scenario of a nightmare.
Any help would be appreciated. I know people rather not donate to GoFundMe, I do have a Venmo account that is being transferred each time to my “house/health and funeral” fund.

5/4/2026:
Greg passed away on Sunday, 5/3/2026 at 6:36am. I am unable to access any benefits since I do not have the Death Certificate. I’ve had to expedite the processes of those details with the funeral home.
I am still working on my home to be repaired, I have not been able to reach the Insurance Adjuster and we can’t go back to our home until it has been repaired completely. Our children are not staying with me, they are with a family friend who live close to their school. I am living in a hotel trying to manage the logistics for our children, Greg’s funeral and after death needs and my cancer reoccurrence.
Any and all assistance will be helpful for the expenses we are facing without any income from Greg. I need to feed my children, keep a roof over our heads and every other expense we are facing with my own cancer reoccurrence that has been recently diagnosed and will likely be unable to afford to take Gregs Cobra insurance.
Our oldest son was just diagnosed with Scoliosis and will need therapies and such to manage that, he has a pending surgery in June for adenoids that may need to be cancelled if we do not have health insurance. We have gone through the majority of tangible savings to manage household repairs before our leak, car damages from an accident and we haven’t been able to make arrangements for the 3 hospital stays for Greg and his Hospice Care.
I have a lot to manage and not sure how to navigate this without any incoming wages. This is a lot for someone to manage in a healthy condition - however, in my health condition with a 3rd cancer reoccurrence, this is considerably uncomfortable.

My husband Greg had an aggressive bile duct cancer that was found late. He had been sick in some form since October.
He was admitted to the hospital 3 times since March.
1) 3/12-3/17
2) 4/8-4/16
3) 4/19-4/25
During his last stay, they informed us that the metastatic disease was too far spread and could not be treated any longer. He would need full time hospice care.
He was transferred to a Hospice House 4/25.

In March, after his original stay in the hospital, I had to resign from my employer to be his full-time caregiver. I didn’t have health benefits or any PTO, my position was essential to their organization. I didn’t qualify for FMLA as I didn’t have enough time there. My small income was primarily used to supplement on my previous cancer medical bills and help pay for groceries, school or scout activities for our kids.
If you would like to contribute, we would greatly appreciate any help.

Update: 4/2/2026 - Our upstairs HVAC system leaked overnight. It caused damage to our ceiling, our floor. Two bedrooms have to be cleaned as the debris fell into those rooms. Because the ceiling leaked and so much insulation fell and too many unknown factors, we had to leave until ALL repairs are fixed.
*The HVAC system IS repaired. *
*4/29/2026 - Waiting on insurance approval to replace all of the upstairs carpet and paint the ceiling. We had someone complete the drywall repair for free to us.
We have to pay $5600.00 deductible to get things fixed. We need help to get back into our home.
Greg’s 1/2 salary of Short Term Disability has come through. We are still working on my Cancer Medical Bills from 2018 and 2020. While we are on payment plans, things for regular chemo treatments, doctor appointments and Imaging Tests that are not on “payment plans”.

4/29/2026: I have Metastatic Breast Cancer. I have been in remission since 2021. I just received news that it has returned but in a new form. I will need chemotherapy. I will no longer have my health insurance from Greg once he passes. I can’t work now because of my recent cancer reoccurrence and I can’t afford my home. Although Greg had life insurance, most likely, it will not cover our mortgage and the other day-to-day life things we have become accustomed to. My parents are deceased and my immediate siblings are not close and have their own family circumstance. Greg’s Mom is living in her own retirement apartment and can’t take us in. Most of our tangible savings has been depleted since I stopped working and have had to pay for medical procedures Greg has had while at the hospital. My PET scan alone was $500.00+ for “co-pay”, then a biopsy that was about $300.00+ for “co-pay”. Paying for fuel for me to transport myself to and from the hotel to the hospital or now Hospice House has also taken what little savings we had to access.
My kids need me and I need them. Please help us. I have no where to go.
I request and beg that you do not tell my kids about my reoccurrence until I have a true prognosis. They have been through so much, they know about my original cancer, they know about Greg’s cancer and the Hospice Care. I want to shield them as possible - until I have more information from my oncologist for a plan and prognosis.
I need help. Please help us.
I am not able to truly talk by phone as I am at the Hospice House and privacy is not great, please do not contact me via Facebook.
This is how to reach me.
