Support Greg's Farm: Recover from Fire Loss

Hello, my name is Sandy Reding and I have a friend who is a regenerative, local, specialty farmer who recently experienced three significant fires on his farm in Lamont, CA. (Tesch Family Farms) The latest was July 12, 2025.

Greg regularly participates in Meals on Wheels, WIC, and farmer's markets in addition to supplying a local restaurant with produce, and ships inside and outside of the United States. He uses a 25-year-old tractor to help produce the most nutritious and flavorful fruits and vegetables that I have ever eaten and does his best to provide seasonal and year-round jobs for his workers. He is also very generous by giving away some of his fruit to our nurses, his workers, and various food charities, which keeps us healthy.

Without outside financial help, Greg is in jeopardy of not being able to pay his farm bills, replace vital equipment, and may lose his farm. The last fire on July 12,2025, damaged several rows of mature peach trees and the farm equipment yard, including much-needed irrigation hoses and supplies. The previous fire a year ago, during unusually extreme temperatures of 117 degrees, burned up his pump that supplies water for irrigation and a trailer for a farmhand to live in. In the summer of 2024, Greg had a major pipeline break, denying the entire farm of irrigation water for three weeks. This resulted in the complete loss of his vegetable crops, 25% of his mature cherry trees, and 15% of mature peach trees.

Greg is not a corporate farmer. He is a man trying to make a living while providing delicious and nutritious food for our community and beyond. He works night and day, seven days a week, and gets joy out of seeing people enjoy his cherries, plums, citrus, peaches, boysenberries, tomatoes, and vegetables.
