My name is Denise Fields, there are times when we seek the assistance of The Village. The Johnson Family is well known in the Opelika community. The three Johnson boys have been active student athletes since they were able to hold a ball. An unexpected health crisis has struck this family. Days ago, Gregory III collapsed while away at college. He is currently a basketball player in college . Gregory III, has spent his last couple of days in ICU in Montgomery, Alabama. After tests and evaluations, Gregory will undergo a heart procedure to help regulate his heart. This is uncommon for an 18-19 year old healthy, athlete. Their mother Shonda will travel back and forth to be by his side during surgery and throughout his recover process. This will entail missing countless days of work, trying to maneuver schedules for the other sons, as well as, maintaining her household. This is a daunting task for anyone. The Johnson Family is woven in faith and a strong belief that God can and will heal Gregory. We’ve been given permission from Shonda to provide this information to the public. We would like to be able to assist her financially as she attempts to navigate through this process. We are prayerful but we also know that this family will require financial assistance. Please consider making a donation to help during this process. Any money donated will go directly to Shonda Johnson to assist with its escalating hospitalization costs, rehabilitation expenses and travel/ food/ and expenses. Thank you for consideration in making a donation.
Sincerely,
Denise Fields
