Support Gregg Blair Sr.'s Fight Against Scleroderma
Donation protected
The Blair Family would like to ask for your love and support in helping our son, brother, father, husband and friend, Gregg Blair Sr. in his progressive battle with Scleroderma, Raynauld's Syndrome, ILD (Interstitial Lung Disease), Congestive Heart Failure, and AFib. Currently Gregg has had a setback and is struggling with congestive heart failure and A-Fib causing his hospitalization and ongoing medical expenses.
His loving wife Candy has been by his side during this difficult time. With both of them out of work, they are going to have another struggle ahead of them financially. Your contributions would go directly to Gregg and Candy to pay for any medical expenses not covered, transportation and hotel expenses in Cleveland where Gregg has been and will continue to be hospitalized; as well as their household bills that may need to be paid while they continue his battle.
Through the years, Gregg has been such an important part of the Warren County Community. His love of all things sports, coaching and teaching, not only impacted his three sons but so many young boys and girls around the area. We can not begin to count the number of hearts Gregg has touched through the years; from growing up and graduating from Youngsville, attending college and playing Basketball at Gannon University, serving in the U.S. Navy, and all his friends from work and recreation, - not to mention raising his sons in Warren participating in all things sports. You are all part of his life and family.
We know all of you love Gregg and his family, however, If you are also struggling and may not be able to contribute, we ask you and your family for prayers. Please add Gregg and Candy and their families to your prayer lists at church and lift them up in your thoughts during this difficult time. Your love, prayers and support is just as valuable as any financial contribution and you have our deepest thanks and appreciation. Please also know that we will work on a way for you to contribute through other means if you are not comfortable using this site.
Feel free to share this page as well. However, as many of you will have Gregg and Candy's personal emails and phone numbers, during this time we are asking you to send text messages and emails only to the following gmail – – theblairfamily1455 – [for full email you can message this page] ---
For Text messages, just simply type that email into where you would normally enter a phone number and send as you usually would, but add your name at the bottom of your text message so he knows who you are! It's that easy!
About Gregg's Condition:
Gregg was diagnosed in 2016 with Scleroderma which is a chronic autoimmune disease characterized by fibrosis, thickening and hardening of the skin, blood vessels, muscles, bones and internal organs. This hardening of the organs may lead to other health complications, including Atrial Fibrillation (AFib), or even death. There is no cure for Scleroderma and in many cases damage caused by this condition can not be reversed. Related issues include Raynauld's Syndrome, ILD (Interstitial Lung Disease), Congestive heart failure, ulcers, difficulty swallowing, intestinal and stomach diseases, shortness of breath, inability to walk or exercise, muscle pain and weakness, lung disease, heart conditions and kidney diseases and others.
Recent Events: (3-6-2025)
Currently, Gregg was recently rushed to Cleveland after having difficulty breathing. Tests and doctors indicated that Gregg was having lack of heart and lung functions including AFib. They performed a cardioversion to get his heart back in rhythm but it did not work. They tried a second Cardioversion this week and it did help for a few days. The doctors may try to do a cardiac ablation, which essentially causes scars on parts of the heart to block faulty heart signals and restore a normal heart rhythm. The wait for this procedure they stated could be as much as 8 months! However, we are hoping his doctors are able to bump him up in the waitlist.
Most Recent Update: (3-19-2025)
Gregg spent this last weekend at home but has suffered AFib again, causing him to pass out and fall frequently and needing to be rushed to Warren Hospital. Currently they have been waiting a couple days for transportation to Cleveland which reportedly has no available beds for him, but in the meantime the quality of care at the local facility is not able to help him with what he needs and are struggling to give appropriate care. Gregg's current heart function is around 20%. Medications he is taking are attempting to strengthen his lungs and heart so that another cardioversion and/or the cardiac ablation can be accomplished.
To all of you who help in any way; with prayers, emotional support, words of kindness, or even financially, please know that we, his entire family, are all extremely thankful for you!
