Greg and I are graciously requesting donations for his family and their neighbors. They are in a small, off-the-grid, grassroots community east of Montego Bay, Jamaica. According to Hurricane Melissa's reported path, the eye of the storm passed within 10 miles of them. While we all are hoping for the best outcome, early reports are indicating widespread destruction in the path of the storm for the island of Jamaica on October 28, 2025. Greg has multiple family members living in this community. 100% of the proceeds from this fundraiser will be sent by us directly to them to aid in their recovery. We are grateful on their behalf for every penny.
We will post updates as we hear specific reports on their condition following the worst storm to hit the island.

Edit: to comply with Gofundme specifications, here is some information which may be redundant from the above, but I cannot post this without answering the following questions.
1. Who are you? Petrina and Gregory Whitehead (musician known as Greg Roy).
2. Where are you from? We reside in the Tampa Bay area, Florida.
3. What is your relationship to those the funds are being raised for? Greg's parents, siblings, child and grandchildren are all in Jamaica as well as many other relatives.
4. How will the funds be distributed? Greg and Petrina will send the funds directly to his family as soon as a connection to an account can be made.

****** UPDATE 10-31-25 ******
First and foremost, everyone in the family we have gotten word on is alive!! As for stuctural/property damage, that is another story.
One of the family members, with two small children, has lost the roof and sustained other structural damage to the home they lived in. It is technically not inhabitable and I would classify them as homeless at this time.
The other household was flooded on the ground level and also sustained other structural damage such as doors that were torn off by the storm. I am told this home is still inhabitable above the ground level, but is in need of supplies to repair the damage.
We are assessing who needs what and how the donations can make the greatest difference, as well as gathering information to ensure safe transfer of funds internationally.
Loads of gratitude to all who have made donations, shared the link and gotten the word out! We will keep this going as long as there is a need and a willingness of others to help.
