Dear Friends, Family, and Community Members,
We are reaching out today with a heavy heart to ask for support for Greg Jensen (Coach Jensen), who was involved in a serious motorcycle accident on Friday, November 14th, around noon.
The accident was severe. He was immediately rushed to Aspirus Wausau Hospital, where he spent 3 critical days in the ICU undergoing multiple diagnostic tests, including CT, MRI, and Echo scans, to assess his multiple injuries. These include a broken scapula (shoulder blade), rib fractures, severe road rash, and a major concussion with a head wound requiring stitches. Thankfully, he was wearing his helmet, which ultimately saved his life.
We are overjoyed to share that he is currently out of the ICU and is headed in the right direction! However, this is just the beginning of a very long and difficult journey. The broken scapula alone will require intensive physical therapy, and the other injuries will need consistent follow-up care. Greg faces a long road to recovery before he can return to his regular life and work.
As many of you know, Greg is a well-known and respected member of the tight-knit Mosinee community. For years, he has dedicated countless hours as a beloved coach with Mosinee athletics, mentoring young athletes not just in the game, but in life. He is known for his huge heart and unwavering willingness to help anyone in need.
While Greg is motivated and eager to get back to normal himself, we don't want him to rush or feel pressured. Especially as the financial burden from this accident will be overwhelming. We are seeking to raise money to cover critical expenses, including:
- Medical Co-pays and Deductibles: Covering the high costs associated with an ICU stay, the numerous tests, and follow-up wound care.
- Rehabilitation and Therapy: Extensive physical/occupational/speech therapy necessary to regain full use of his shoulder and arm after the scapula break, and get back up to his baseline.
- Loss of Income: Covering essential expenses (mortgage, utilities, food) while he is recovering.
