Support Greg Howard: A Veteran in Need

My name is Greg Howard. I am a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. I was proud to serve my nation. I served at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. As a result, I am now 64 years old with Parkinson's disease, early cognitive issues, and PTSD. I am swallowing a great deal of pride to do this, so please hear me out.

Due to life issues of having to help my son with a severe brain injury when a wrench hit him in the head with no health insurance or workers compensation, I have depleted all of my resources which were once over $300,000, not including the $100,000 in home equity that I cannot get to now due to credit issues from maxing out my cards to help my son, and I have no resources left to cover my debts of $17,600 to keep our vehicles. My wife needs one to take care of her mother who is not quite ready for a nursing home but cannot take care of herself. And I need one to drive 4 hours each way to a doctor. Because I really need better doctors than are available to me in Dothan Alabama for my situation.

We are down to less than 15 to 20 days of losing both cars. The need is now urgent.

I have tried everything. I have even tried borrowing against my future Camp Lejeune settlement. However, because Congress has not yet funded the Camp Lejuene Justice Act properly, even J G Wentworth or Peachtree Settlement Funding will not advance settlement funding. And because I did not select attorney representation, no one will touch me anyway.

I have been waiting for months for the government to issue my award for full disability due to Parkinson's disease and for the Camp Lejeune Settlement Fund to be properly settle my claim under the elective option so that I can live in dignity on 100% disability. I am presently living on early Social Security and only 50% VA disability since my issues have progressed to the point where I can no longer make the good living my wife and I enjoyed for 35 years.
