As we approach the holidays, I’ve been thinking about how I can honor my Nanas memory in a meaningful way.

My Nana and Terry both served faithfully in their church. Including the food pantry, and Terry was actually set to join the board prior to his passing. If you knew my Nana, you know she had the biggest servant’s heart. I loved hearing her stories and seeing how she truly lived out being the hands and feet of Christ in so many ways.

This Thanksgiving, I want to carry on that legacy. I’m organizing a fundraiser in her memory, with all proceeds going to Greers Ferry First Assembly’s Food Pantry to help feed families in need.

With the holidays approaching—and the potential of many families missing out on government food assistance due to the shutdown—I can’t think of a better way to honor her than by helping others.
