On October 4th, we are thrilled to participate in the inaugural Dragon Boat & Lantern Festival at North Hempstead Beach Park! Co-hosted by Councilwoman Christine Liu and Ohana Paddling Association, this event celebrates over 2,000 years of Chinese tradition through exhilarating dragon boat races, beautiful lantern ceremonies, cultural performances, and delicious food.
The Port Washington community is proud to field a dragon boat team this year. To prepare for the competition, our 16 dedicated athletes have been training several hours each week amidst their busy schedules. They brave the sun, push their limits, and strive to represent Port Washington with the highest level of teamwork and spirit, showcasing the vitality and unity of our community!
But we need your help to make this possible! The total cost for registration, uniforms, and supplies is approximately $1,800. We kindly ask for your support to help us cover these expenses. All donations will go directly toward our team’s participation, with any surplus funds supporting future GPWCAA community activities.
Let’s come together to support our team and showcase the beauty and vitality of Chinese culture in Port Washington!
